Meet the TLC Leadership
Co-Pastors Tim & Beverly Buchholtz
Tim & Beverly have been residents of the Lloyd/Monticello area since moving from the Midwest in 1999. They have been sharing their anointing for Worship and traveling as evangelist since called into ministry in 1995. In 2001, they began planting Bible training centers throughout the southeast as Assemblies of God U.S. Missionaries with the Church Planting & Development department. A new chapter began in 2007 when they set out to launch a new church by pulling together and training a launch team for Transforming Life Church. "We knew everything God has had us do leading up to this assignment was to prepare us for planting and pastoring a church", states Tim. Beverly adds, "God said to focus on one thing - Worship! We believe as we bring people into the presence of God through worship, lives will be transformed." They have two adult children, Jennifer and Benjamin, both gifted musically, living in the Tallahassee area.
Sr. Adult Pastors Don & Carol Gerrell
Don and Carol have been in the ministry for nearly 40 years as presbyter, pastors, and teachers. You will never meet a more precious couple! Don leads our senior adult ministry. Carol leads our Prayer Ministry including Altar Ministry. They have two adult children - Matthew who lives in the Orlando area with his wife and two children, and Jennifer who lives in Tallahassee.
Family Life Pastor Rich Tenney and Family
Rich Tenney, a 1980 Southeastern University graduate, has served in various church positions over the past 30 years including pastoring two home-missions churches. While serving in churches in New England, North Carolina, Ohio and Florida, he also spent over 10 years as an Athletic Director in a number of Christian schools. As our Family Life Pastor, he oversees our chilren's program, discipleship, and greeter ministry. Rich is married to Bobbie who sings on the worship team. They have three children Melody, Melissa (who leads our Children's Church on Sunday mornings) and Robby.
Andrea Hanks - Director of Youth Ministries
As a parent of two teens herself, Andrea has a passion and heart for youth. She was born and raised in Hawaii which ultimately led to her meeting a young man ministering from the mainland, David Hanks. Fast forward sixteen years: they and their six children have made their home here in the Monticello area. Preparing her for this critical ministry are their times serving as pastors and holding Bible studies in their home.

Starting a Greeter Program
Four years ago I accepted the challenge of evangelism chairperson for our church. One of the first programs the pastor and I developed was the Sunday morning greeter program. -
Motivating the Right Person into the Right Ministry
One of the greatest challenges for most leaders is selecting and motivating the right people into the right ministry positions in hopes of minimizing turnover and frustration. Even in the smaller church with limited personnel, it is important to coordinate people and ministry as much as possible. -
“I TRIED, BUT NO ONE EVER CALLED ME”
“I tried, but no one ever called me” are painful words for a leader who has much work to do and not enough people willing to do it. These words are painful for the person who wanted to contribute, but was never called. These are also painful words for a person who is committed to helping people connect and contribute in meaningful ways within the church.
